east coast Fishing Report 2025

Well we just traveled all day heading toward the fishing grounds. The passengers worked on preparing their gear and relaxed. We dined on Chicken ala King in puff pastry, grilled zucchini, and saut?©ed carrots for lunch. And for dinner we had an excellent veal shank in a caper sauce with roasted potatoes, baked parmesan tomatoes and salad bar. Thanks for checking in.

The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego,CA checked in with us today:

Strung together a lot of short stops and ended with 45 yellowtail.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in with a FINAL Wrapup! We found a kelp on the way back in with a bonus 25 yellowtail. We did find catch 30 Yellowfin Tuna under a school of Dolphin. Polaris supreme Trip date 08-01-2019 We got a nice early start today on Tom Chaparro's annual Windham / Wells Memorial eight day chart.This is a special limited to 18 anglers trip dedicated to the discriminating angler who likes comfort without a crowd! Our bait supply looks good and the weather traveling down was good all afternoon. Although it might be a little bumpy going the other way up swell back towards home.We have a lot of familiar faces on board and are looking forward to a fun trip with the boys. Wish us luck! Captian Ryan Bostian checked in this evening with an update form the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today we had 38 anglers catch 28 Yellowtail. The grounds were a little crowded today. Bring a yo-yo rod, a 20 or 25 lb. bait rod. If you are a surface iron fishermen there has been plenty of opportunities.

 Arrive/depart.  A quick one too.  We were out before 9:30.  We got our bait and we were gone.  We started fishing after lunch.  We had one little area that was loaded up with 5 pound skipjack.  We stopped a few times to let everyone pull and jerk on something and practice following there fish around the boat and stuff.  We had a couple kelps with a few small yellows we caught.  We unfortunately made it to our destination before dark.  I say unfortunately because we were hoping to bump into something sooner.  We saw only a few little dabs of tuna while we had light.  I mean just a few fish, and they didn't bite.  We're currently anchored in the cove here and we're enjoying a nice prime rib dinner and I think we'll sleep well tonight.

 It sounded like it was a better day around here.  Not just catching wise but fishing too.  Never thought I'd say that but what I mean is there was a bigger spread of fish seen today.  They weren't all seen in the same honey hole like most of last week.  We have high hopes for tomorrow.  Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going on break.
      

Aug. 15
 Our day sort of reversed from yesterday.  Today it was a super slow morning that led into an action packed afternoon.  We looked for bluefin tuna this morning.  We started off in the zone where it had been in the weeks prior, but like yesterday, it wasn't around.  We caught one 12 pounder on the troll all morning.  We looked around there and in other places I thought it might have gone but we never saw an meat.  We went through one area where at least we were seeing little dabs of the BF but it was diving off on the meter.  We could tell it didn't want it.

 So we kept tracking around and ended up close to a possible yellowtail honey hole. So we took a look and that's exactly what it was.  For the rest of the afternoon till dark we stayed pretty steady on 12-25+ pound yellers.  It was good fishing.  A very pleasant surprise.  We're keeping this ball rolling.

 Needless to say, well maybe not needless, but we're going to spend the night here and see what this place looks like in the morning.
    

"So far we've had very good fishing for our morning down at 134 miles." Mike went on, "So far we have a little over 54 Yellowfin, 15 or 18 Yellowtail and a handful of nice Dorado. Very, very nice weather. It looks like the weather is going to be nice the next few days.
