yakima Fishing Report 2025

Labor day weekend caps off an excellent summer and also moves us into my favorite time of year. With water temperatures ranging from 70 to 74.5 this week was spent looking around offshore for kelp patties. On Wednesday we caught 82 yellowtail and a handfull of dorado. On Thursday we had a big day catching 108 yellowtail. Fridays fish count was 21 dorado and 16 yellowtail. Anybody who has spent any time at all fishing in San diego knows that September thru the end of November is a great time to fish. The kids are back in school , the weather is very nice and the exotics are in the area. With the Coronado islands still closed we will continue to fish offshore for yellowtail , dorado , bluefin tuna and albacore. This time of year the yellowfin tuna should show up sometime in the next few weeks. If your looking for lighter loads on the boats as well as the chance to catch an exotic fish. Today started off on the slow side. For a few hours after daylight we saw virtually nothing. A little bit in the dark and even less in the day light. A couple of the boats found schools and were drifting so of course the stress level goes up. Thankfully we found a school after 9:00 and drifted with them till after lunch. They didn't bite full speed by any means but it was steady picking for most of the time. And oh yeah, they were the 50-70 pound grade. Yes baby, they're back! For today anyways. Who knows when they'll disappear again. Maybe tomorrow. Anyways after that drift, that was it for us for the day. We never found another deal. But I chalk this day up as a good one because that's just a beautiful grade of bluefin.

We're headed down now and we're going to try for some yellows in the morning and try our hands at some yellowfin in the afternoon. That's the tentative game plan for now anyways. Things change out here constantly. That's fishing. The weather today was top notch. I give it a 9.5 in the morning and an 8.7 in the afternoon. See you tomorrow.

To mama bear- Your little angel did great today. 2 record breaking bluefin for him. They were bigger then he was. He's currently sleeping in bed safe and sound.

Hi everyone, We will be fishing the Channel Islands out of Santa Barbara this weekend and we have space on a open charter sponsored by Berkley. Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-09-2016 Good afternoon and thanks for checking in. We gave it a solid effort throughout the night for some greenies a.k.a green back mackeral to replenish our bait supply but they just didn't want to cooperate on a full speed basis. However, the we did manage to get quite a few in the tank. At 0530 we went right into yellowtail fishing. It was certainly a pleasant start having the wind subside from the two days prior. It just makes for an all around better day. We didn't fair out too bad in terms of finding spot after spot of fish, these things just seemed to have a little case of lock jaw. They come up boiling, showing real well, but only a handful at a time decided to take what we had to offer. Regardless, there was a descent morning put together by the guys. With everything really starting to mellow out and bite less as the morning went on, we decided to point north and gain some latitude to ensure everyone a final shot in the morning at tagging some fish before we have to call it a trip. Right now we are in some absolutely beautiful offshore water that should produce a nice sun downer stop. About another hour til Chef Mike lays out a nice coconut crusted yellowtail dinner and we call it a day. Thanks again for stopping by and we'll check back in tomorrow. Tight lines, Team Supreme

Ryan Bostian checked in with a report from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. Today we had 15 anglers catch 9 Bluefin Tuna (60-80 lbs) 1 Yellowfin Tuna (25 lbs). Capt Cameron and the boys had a fine day.

Rosemont Media private charter brought out 21 passengers and they “made them pay”. They landed limits of yellowfin before noon. We recommend having a rod to fish 30-50lb test when the tuna are eating everything in the water.

Hello everyone, Today there was a ton of fish both Yellowfin and Bluefin Tuna. However was tough to get them to stick. We did manage to land some of both species. The grade is great we just need that consistent bite. We will be trying a new area tomorrow. Will report again then, Team Supreme
