Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-23-2019 We left yesterday on an eight day private charter with 10 anglers! We got a nice load of bait in San Diego and had really smooth sailing down all day. Today the same program on the weather it was absolutely gorgeous all day and of course the usual rigging good food napping and camaraderie amongst crew and passengers. Looking forward to getting to the fishing grounds tomorrow! Seriously watching a gnarly storm coming in over Thanksgiving! May slide in a day early just to avoid a serious beating. Hello everyone We just wrapped up another successful Simpatico five day charter put on by Vernon Burke. A great group of anglers who know how to fish hard and have fun on their five days of fishing vacation! It was a great trip this five day, we committed to big fish as opposed to big numbers. Some nice bluefin in the 60-90 lb class, the fish that were caught were the biggest these gentlemen have ever caught in their lives. The triumphs and defeats were spread pretty evenly but everyone had their chance at several quality Blufin of a lifetime! Good afternoon everyone, We just cleared the point and are headed south on our annual Costello 6 day trip. We have high hopes for the next 6 days. We are really looking forward to having 6 days to be able to spread out and cover some area. We have many options and all of em sound promising! However right now we are kicking back enjoying the afternoon and looking forward to chef mikes delicious prime rib!

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this morning with an audio update from the Tribute out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA. We ended up with 11 Bluefin Tuna around 50 pounds. The weather has been great and we are seeing a very good sign of fish.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-29-2018 Another fantastic day of fishing from the time we got up at 530 until the time we left the island at one p.m. It's incredible what a great trip we have had here at Guadalupe. Most of the fish are in the 80 pound range with a few towards 150 and a few smaller. We normally can stay here at the island until dark but our forecast weather does not look good! We took off early so we could get a decent ride home at least in the beginning On the subject of who were the hot sticks on the boat! It was the people number one that had the skills but also were fishing 50 to 80 pound Spectra backing 50 to to 60 pound top shots of Mono with 50 or 60 pound flouro carbon leaders and a 3/0 to 5/0 circle or standard designer. Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute called in a trip wrap up for their 1.5 day trip, we had really good fishing and ended with a nice kelp to help us up out Yelowtail and Yellowfin Tuna counts for the trip. Our final count for the trip was 103 Yellowfin Tuna, 101 Yellowtail and 10 Bluefin Tuna and a couple Dorado, we are fishing US waters so we got to keep our Bluefin. The Yellowfin are a really nice grade in the mid 20 lb range and the bluefin were in the mid to upper 40 lb range. We have another overnight trip leaving tomorrow night, hope to see you out there.

Our partnership with the best live bait boats in the world allowed us to catch 126 yellowfin from 15-25 lbs and 13 bluefin from 30-50 lbs. a 20 lb rod with a #2 hook, a 30 lb rod with a #1 or #2 hook and a 40 lb rod with a #1 hook is all you need. Please be sure to have at least 150 feet of mono on top of your braid. Shock absorption is very important when fighting a fish on a small hook. Fish the heaviest line the fish are willing to bite.

Today was another example of the fact that when targeting Bluefin, we are playing by their rules.  We stopped on fish all day and managed to land 15 fish from 30 to 70 lbs and one 45 lb Yellowfin. Staying at the rail and fishing either a 40 lb flyline rig, a 50 lb colt sniper or sinker rig was the best bet today.  Come out to enjoy the ocean, be prepared with your tackle.  Keep your fingers crossed that you are here when they let their guard down a bit is the name of the game.
