January 22, 2025 stomps Fishing Report

Hello Everyone, Today we made our way up the line looking for Yellowtail. Water was cold in most places and conditions were not favorable. We did manage to land one for the day. The wind is picking up and it is getting choppy. We will continue working our way up the line. Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

January 21, 2025 stomps Fishing Report

Today we went out with 40 anglers and caught 16 yellowtail and 33 rockfish. We had a couple good shots at fish today. Unfortunately our hook to land ratio was a bit low. This spring is setting up nicely.

January 19, 2025 stomps Fishing Report

The first half of our day today was spent traveling to the Island. We slept in, had a nice relaxing breakfast, did our tackle seminar and enjoyed the nice ride down. That was my take on it anyways. I'm sure the passengers we're very anxious to get a line wet. It was worth the wait. When we got our anchor down at 3:30 the jumbo yellows immediately were on the prowl. It was very good fishing for the next couple hours and then slowed down a little to a steady pick until dark. We are very pleased with our day and I can't wait to see what's in store for us tomorrow. The galley portion of the day was great. Pedro dished out a beautiful seafood Newburg and we're getting ready to chow down on Cornish game hens stuffed with something I'm sure will knock our socks off.

January 18, 2025 stomps Fishing Report

~~Oct. 24
 We fished today with all our buds.  Obviously it was the best game in town.  We had boats from San Diego up to Ventura all nestled in sharing the same honey hole.  15 of us to be exact.  It all worked out though.  It was a nice spread of fish.  Everyone was able to scratch.  Scratch, scratch, scratch.  From after daylight until after lunch.  Then things went dead for the most part, so we pulled anchor and found a nice school to drift on.  After a long drift the day was pretty much over.  We drove around, made another anchor job but the fish were done.  Just like us.  We're done for the week.  It's up to you whether or not we fish this next up coming weekend.  Halloween weekend.  See you there?

 Oh, the fish today were tuna.  Yellowfin.  Smaller.  We had a couple handfuls of 30-40 pounders first thing, but as soon as the current picked up, for some reason the bigguns split.  So we stayed busy with the smaller ones.  Veal.  Oh, and they found sardine again.  Loaded up.  So don't worry 10 dayers.

January 16, 2025 stomps Fishing Report

This past week was all about yellowtail and warm water. 40 - 115 yellowtail per trip with a sprinkling of dorado sums up the past week. I attached a photo of the terrafin chart for our area to show you guys all the warm water. Anything over 70 degrees is considered warm and as you can tell we have plenty of it. As a matter of fact finding the cooler water has actually been the key to catching these yellowtail. The most common question this week was "when are the yellowfin going to show up". While I don't have a crystal ball to tell you exactly when they are going to show up. I can tell you that they have made a major northern movement over the past week and there has been yellowfin tuna caught as close as 60 miles. Crew trip today! 5(crew) 50 Yellowfin Tuna 5 Bluefin Tuna We have a 1.75 day trip leaving Friday morning with a light load. With the great fishing that’s been going on, we have made this next trip a definite run!
