The Apollo scored limits of nice grade Rockfish today at San Miguel Island. The Apollo will be running OPEN PARTY Overnight trips every Saturday night. Give them a call and fish the Outter Channel Islands fishing for White Seabass in the morning and Rockfish in the afternoon.

Hello everyone We just wrapped up another successful Simpatico five day charter put on by Vernon Burke. A great group of anglers who know how to fish hard and have fun on their five days of fishing vacation! It was a great trip this five day, we committed to big fish as opposed to big numbers. Some nice bluefin in the 60-90 lb class, the fish that were caught were the biggest these gentlemen have ever caught in their lives. The triumphs and defeats were spread pretty evenly but everyone had their chance at several quality Blufin of a lifetime! When we go offshore on these trips we are basically looking for 1 good school. 1 good bluefin school if it’s in the right mode will stick with the boat all day and provide plenty of action. With that being said, today we saw 4 nice schools but only managed to land 1 tuna.

Good evening, today was a travel day for us, Our day started off with a 0700 wake up call for breakfast and shortly after breakfast we began our fishing seminar. Some of the topics we covered were fishing live bait, Jig fishing for whaoo, Trolling, Big tuna fishing, Kite fishing, and of course Safety.The rest of the day the crew helped the passengers rig wire leaders, wind on line and rig up to do battle with wahoo and tuna. We are making good speed south and should reach our first fishing spot around 0900 tomorrow morning. So until then wish us luck.

"Today we went out we caught 28 Yellowtail. We had a couple good opportunities at them today, one in particular was a very fun stop. We ended up with 28 fish in the 15 to 25 lb. range. They are finding the fly line sardines the best on 25 lb, surface lures will work but the fly line is the best.

We offer these 5:30 to 5:00 Trips everyday. If you'd like to join us call Seaforth Landing 619-224-3383. The way this fishing has been lately it is either feast or famine. You go to a spot, you sit there catching nothing. All of a sudden, 15 are hooked. That is kind of the way they are behaving right now. If you come on down and fish with us please pack a nice big package of patience with you."

Unbelievable visuals today as 30-80 lb bluefin devoured everything in their path ! A well placed popper or surface iron was the bait of the day. 21 bluefin Tuna 2 yellowtail.

Thursday, June 14th, 2012

Good evening, friends. One more day. Just one more day of boatwork and we will be setting sail on our first voyage of the 2012 season. Today was a successful day as the revamped air conditioning unit was finally completed and she's running quite smooth if I must say so myself. Other than loading some dry groceries and other supplies, we did some more cleaning and organizing and I can honestly say that tomorrow everything will be clean and stowed away. For now, we're all enjoying our last couple of days with our families and living the "land life" but at the same time, we're all anxiously awaiting a shot at some of those gorgeous Bluefin tuna, Yellowtail and anything else that we can locate.

So that's all that is going on with us. Just putting the finishing touches on our boatwork and transforming the boat into a fishing machine. Thanks for checking in.
