Scratched away for 16 wahoo. Weather is excellent. Didn't get much tuna until the end. We had fun kite fishing on frozen flying fish into the dark. We re-baited and have a good supply of bait tonight and have hopes of a better day in the morning.

We got 15 wahoo this morning. Our weather is outstanding. Just really great. Conditions are still good. We plan to start our fishing this afternoon around 4pm. And it will probably go on until 4 am.

Hi friends. It's hot down here -- wicked hot. The bronzing was epic today. Charlie Middleton and Drew even got in on the action. Just kidding, but we did as if they would like to participate in a session with us but they respectfully declined. Bottom line, the weather was excellent today but we could've used about five more knots of wind not only for some circulation but to carry the kite out as well. Anyhow, our fishing was a little on the slow side but it was to be expected with the south swell that rolled through here and threw things off a bit. We trolled up some wahoo today and managed to land a few fish on various artificials and a few on live bait as well. The sign of tuna here wasn't anything to write home about this morning but in the afternoon, we rolled up to a spot of jumpers, kicked the anchor over, and proceeded to hook and land a few in the 40-80 lb. range. We did have our shark casualties today as well but we're hopeful that if we can get a few more fish hooked, we'll keep the sharks spread out and land a few more. We'll see.

Anyways, our plan is to stay here tomorrow and see what the morning brings and we'll base our next decision to stay or go off of that. Wish us luck. Good night.

P.S. Eddie wishes to say hello to Marla. Eddie managed one of those beautiful yellowfin today so he's pumped. He misses you and can't wait to get home and see you.

~~Trip Report 08.10.2015

 Good evening folks. Today didn't fair out like we planned. It proves that's why it's called fishing and not catching. We didn't have the awesome weather that we had yesterday, but it was certainly fishable. Our common yellowtail zone has been producing fairly well over the past few weeks, but there are those off days too. What's encouraging though, is there is also school of yellowfin tuna down here South as well. It's great for keeping our options open for when the tails don't want to cooperate. My feeling is the the tails just took a day off to regroup and we'll get at it first thing in the morning and start tagging some fish right away. On a brighter note, we did move north a little ways in the early afternoon and hit a giant breezer of tuna. Pretty close to a football field size I would say, and we managed to get a nice chunk of them to stick with us. It took some shoveling of bait to get them to stick, but they did. Nothing like a nice chaotic tuna bite to break up the day. We managed to turn it into a nice 100 fish stop of a pretty good grade I might add. All and all, we ended up putting a descent afternoon and everyone got to tag plenty of tuna. Tomorrow is a new day, we'll cross our fingers that the fish God's are on our side tomorrow and we'll check back in after we wrap it up for the day.

Captain Andrew Viola called in a bit ago with an update from the Pacifica out of Seaforth Sportfishing in San Diego, CA. We returned this morning from a 1.5 day trip and the fishing was as good as it gets. We had limits of Bluefin Tuna and 10 Yellowfin Tuna. The Bluefin were mainly 18 to 25 pounds but we also had 5 or 6 fish in the 60 to 80 pound class. We did manage to catch two of the bigger models (150 and 170). We have a 1.5 day trip tonight with a few spots and an overnighter on Thursday. Come out fishing on the Pacifica.

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 08-04-2019 We have caught some nice quality the last couple days just lacking in numbers! Were going to make a little move here see if we can't change that! Just yellows here today no sign of grouper or Wahoo. Weathers great going to spend the rest the day looking for Dorado and yellowfin tuna patties. The Polaris Supreme Crew !

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 10-22-2019 Today was one of those mind numbing days where you just can't believe fishing is that good. We had fantastic fishing on just monster size Wahoo and unbelievable fishing on beautiful big Dorado. We got Wahoo throughout the whole day and Dorado was a steady 2 1/2 hour bite of catch and release with the guys keeping only a few of what they wanted. Both the Dorado and Wahoo are just an absolute premium grade. Beautiful weather again today and will be out offshore again tomorrow looking for those big beautiful kelp patties that produced such a phenomenal day. We had plenty of Wahoo photos but neglected to get one single Dorado photo. You'll just have to believe me it was good and they were big. Hello everyone, Today we had an exciting day of catching Bluefin Tuna and BIG Yellowtail. The Yellowtail mainly came on big Greenback Mackerel we caught ourselves. They were bruisers, once you were bit you had to pull as hard as you could to get them out of the rocks. We had many casualties but the fish we landed were very large. We are looking to try again for these Yellowtail tomorrow before looking offshore for a bigger grade of tuna. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Polaris Supreme Trip Update 11-24-2019 We arrived early afternoon to the fishing grounds. We had a good afternoon of fishing on tuna from 12 to 35 pounds. Most of the fish were down toward the lower end of the spectrum. We didn't see much sign of anything else but the tuna throughout the afternoon but were still going to stay another day here to get fixed up on them. Late in the day we decided to pull the anchor and go troll around about 40 minutes before dark but picked up a old seiner anchor that weighed about 500 pounds. That ended those plans! It took us about three hours to get rid of it and fix everything it broke! Quite the tussle. Good weather still a little squally and rainy at times but good seas! See you tomorrow.
