oroville Fishing Report 2025

Yesterday we hit the wahoo in the morning and had a steady tuna all day on 45 to 75 pounders. Weather was still great. This morning we are heading up offshore to the albacore. Weather is ok. Not a bad ride up so far. Chef Tommy kicked butt again yesterday with a seafood pasta for lunch (lobster, scallop, shrimp and crab) and for dinner we had the classic steaks and baked potatoes. Very good. Passengers are all having a ball. Crew too. It's been a very good trip.

The morning started our ok. We scratched yellows for about 4 hours and kelps patties. Little sign of dorado. As the day progressed it got tougher with few patties. Overall it was a slow day.

Our weather is still great. Tomorrow we our on our way to do some Island fishing. Wish us luck.

Same story different day. Stopped on some good schools of tuna but very tough to get a bite. Ended up with 5 yellowfin. Hoping for a change in the near future.

Today we went out with 13 anglers and caught 33 yellowtail and 12 rockfish. The best way to catch a yellowtail today was on a yo-yo lure. These fish are very big and mean so make sure you have fresh 40 or 50 lb. monofilament. We did manage to catch a couple of yellowtail on the surface iron but the yo-yo was by far the most consistent. The yellowtail were in the 18-30 lb. class.

We didn't have to go too far to get some good action on the albacore. Everyone hooked and landed some. Weather is good. We will head into blue fin territory tomorrow. Thanks for checking in.

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute called in an early morning report on behalf of Jay Kinsley making his maiden voyage and they are off to a great start. They have over 50 mixed tuna by 8:30am on board and some hanging and was very busy and could not talk long.                                              Clint Cambell started our morning hooking and landing a 70 pound yellowfin tuna on a PL 68, a few other tuna were hooked and lost due to the arrival of the tax man but don't worry that only put a very small dent into our morning plan, we went into search mode but this time we had plan B going for us, yummy flyers on the troll and we started to put a few nice grade tuna aboard with Paul Hess putting a 115 pounder on deck! We ended up scratching up a nice day of tuna and wahoo.

Hello everyone, Today we fished in yellowtail country. Fishing was good, we managed to piece together a nice day on these quality yellowtail. All very good size fish ranging from 15-28 lbs, with the dropper loop and yo yo iron being the hot ticket. We were able to scratch at yellowtail for most of the day until we had to start making our way to San Diego. Will report again tomorrow, Team Supreme
