oklahoma Fishing Report 2025

Polaris Supreme update  10-4-12  14:00 hours

Hey Anglers,

Richie and the gang got out at 18:00 hours last evening and neglected to put out a report. But I can tell you I talked to him at 12:00 hours today and he was very disgruntled with only jig strikes to be had so far. I talked to him later on at 14:01 hours and he was doing back flips with over 100 bluefin in a wide open bite and they were still biting. They have great weather and I'm sure Richie will have a report for you by the end of the day or tomorrow morning when they arrive at 06:00 hours. Our next 1.5 day trip is full but we do still have openings on the 6-day departing this Sunday, October 7th.

Hello Everyone, Today we got an incredible head start to our Black Friday 7 day trip. We loaded a great load of bait and got on the road early. We are headed to the ridge or rocks with hopes of Wahoo, Tuna, Dorado, Grouper, and Yellowtail. Tomorrow will be a rigging day. We will decide whereto start fishing tomorrow.  It was a slow day out here today for us.  It was a slow day for many.  But of course it depends on who you talk to, some might say it was a great day.  It all depended on which school you found.  Just like it's been, most schools don't produce, but the few lucky ones do.  We didn't find the lucky one.  Our best school was for 20.  But no matter who you ask, it was a slow afternoon today. After lunch, we didn't find a school till after 6:00.  We're due.

 The weather today was awesome.  Again.  We're going to drift out here tonight and try it again tomorrow.  I thought about doing something different, like hunting bluefin, but it hasn't been very good and our plan B., that being San Clemente island is closed tomorrow darnit.  Plus these yellowfin we're catching are just too beautiful.  Such a nice grade.

 One more day.  We're due.  It won't take much more to get 200 of these things for the trip.  200 of these things would be nice.
        

37 yellowfin 7 yellowtail 5 dorado 6 skipjack. Never located the magic kelp but we were able to plunk on a couple tuna schools.

Labor day weekend caps off an excellent summer and also moves us into my favorite time of year. With water temperatures ranging from 70 to 74.5 this week was spent looking around offshore for kelp patties. On Wednesday we caught 82 yellowtail and a handfull of dorado. On Thursday we had a big day catching 108 yellowtail. Fridays fish count was 21 dorado and 16 yellowtail. Anybody who has spent any time at all fishing in San diego knows that September thru the end of November is a great time to fish. The kids are back in school , the weather is very nice and the exotics are in the area. With the Coronado islands still closed we will continue to fish offshore for yellowtail , dorado , bluefin tuna and albacore. This time of year the yellowfin tuna should show up sometime in the next few weeks. If your looking for lighter loads on the boats as well as the chance to catch an exotic fish. This is the best time of year. Captain Ryan Bostian.

Captain Mike Pritchard checked in with an final wrap-up from the Tribute out of Seaforthl.  Today we had 27 bluefin (1 shy of limits) 2 yellowfin (first of the season) and 16 yellowtail for our 14 anglers today in flat calm weather.

 Remember yesterday I was talking about plans? Well if you read my first report of the trip I talked about dragging our feet a day and waiting for the weather to get pristine out at the Rocks. That was the master plan and well, it worked out. Today we had great weather to go along with our great wahoo fishing. We arrived to the grounds at 7:30 and we were getting steady jig strikes on wahoo to go along with jigging and baiting until about 5:30 when things around here went to bed. I really wanted 4 more wahoo for the magic number but we tried and tried and we gave up. The fish went to bed so we will too. We're now sitting on anchor getting ready to enjoy a nice sunset before eating a nice dinner. Like I said , the weather couldn't be better. We'll have a great nights sleep. We're going to try this again in the morning and take it from there. It's the last day we ever get in August of 2014 and I'm glad we spent it here.

Today we had some decent Tuna and Wahoo fishing. It was for sure a grind but we were able to capitalize on a few shots on both Tuna and Wahoo. The Wahoo were good grade and really keyed in on the mackerel we caught last night. So it was as good thing we put in the work in to catch them! The shot at tuna yielded a great grade of fish . 20-40 lbers. The only downside is that they quit biting when the current died. Tomorrow we will try for wahoo and Dorado on kelps wish us luck !
