We had an ok day here at Guadalupe. Caught some yellowtail with 3 hitting around 30lbs. We also got some excellent grade yellowfin tuna 55-60 pounders. Dinner was a scrumptious Cornish game hen with a rosemary glaze. Martin who works in the office at the landing supplied Pedro with bags full of fresh herbs and peppers from his garden. Thanks Martin! We've had great weather here and certainly enjoyed fishing the island. We will fish tomorrow until about 9am and then head for home.
We should be at the dock Thursday morning at 8:30am. Two spots open on the Sept. 8 if you can get away. Boss won't let you go? Heck, bring him with you.

November 18, 2024 odfw Fishing Report

Hello Supreme fans. We have finally hit our stride and started fishing.Unfortunately it happened to be right in the midst of some extremely tough fishing. Our first trip of the year was an Open party three day trip. We spent the three day searching the ocean for biting tuna as well as some inshore action. The tuna fishing was really slow but full of lots of spots of fish, and they were BIG. Bluefin well into the 150 lb class were around but not biting. We chipped away at some inshore fish and were able to put together a nice catch of quality Reds and Lingcod from the bottom. However the star of the show was hands down the jackpot fish. A 130lb Bluefin Tuna, a hard earned fish that ended in victory! These fish were big and did not make it easy to hook them or land them. Their size, abrasive teeth, and unwillingness to bite created quite the challenge. We did managed to hook 5 fish and only landed one. We are out on a two day after Independence day. Wish us Luck! Polaris Supreme Trip Update 10-23-2012 End Of Day

After the seminar there was a group fitting of OTR harnesses and a rush to get rid of all 80 lb. rigs and less and switch over to 100 lb. plus on all rigs. you see all the fish where we will be in 44 hrs are over 150 lbs. Thats right the small ones are 150 lbs. Don't worry the boys can handle it. We had a little split pea soup and ...
turkey sandwich for lunch to fuel us for the wire tying party that ensued. There was also a gaff rigging party that you missed Richie. Staple gun repair, flood light cleaning and repair, bait siphoning, fixed the furuno-Navnet meter problem, got that waste of money USCG required DSC single side band radio working right, and a few more things fixed. I just wrote all that out so when we write the usual stuff in the future you know what we are talking about. All in all a very productive day. The anglers did a bunch of rigging and caught enough Dorado for tacos, a nice fillet meal, enchilada's and Dorado ceviche in the coming days. Right now its Tito's and Stogies while we wait for a little tender loin dinner. Weather is fantastic and the boys all said to say hi and they miss you all. Except the cat....
