Hello everyone,
Today we had another nice day of yellowtail fishing. We got a good morning jump on these guys and put quite a few on the boat right off the bat. There has been some tuna schools roaming around this area as well, we picked off a few mixed in with the yellowtail. However when we went out to try and find them we only had a couple jig strikes and skip jack breezers.
That about wraps up our Seeker/Sadie Hawkins 3 day charter. We would like to thank Bev Seltzer for putting together such a great trip. We are looking forward to next year already!

Well today was more of the same. We woke up to coffee, machaca and eggs and a Tom Cruise movie. Then we rigged up our heavy gear and did our tuna seminar. Then we trolled it up for a bit and looked at a couple of kelps for some neck tie size dorado which we let go. Then we had a nice taco salad and some kind of a room temp soup which was good and then some chose to take a nap while others chose to listen to football and do what guys do while we listen to football. After that it was dinner time and then a quick nap before arriving to the bait grounds at 11:00 PM. Bait fishing wasn't a great success but we did manage to catch 13 nice size squid that will fish beautifully on the kite. Hey, that's 13 200+ pound tuna as far as I'm concerned. Now everyone is in bed and I'm up driving and writing this.The weather couldn't be better and we're about half way there so a little more relaxation before we get down and dirty for several days straight.

The Apollo came back from a 1.5 day trip with 26 anglers and landed 50 Giant Squid, 20 Lings, and 200 Rockfish. Good evening everybody. A fine night of traveling made for good speed as we arrived to our destination first thing this morning with high hopes of finding some wahoo and some tuna. We managed to find some sign of wahoo and we even caught a few while trolling around. Good grade of 'hoo as well, a couple pushing 45 lbs. for sure. Anyhow, the action wasn't RED hot, but we did catch a few skin and we also saw a little bit of sign on the tuna-fish. Although wahoo gets us as excited as any other fish, we just don't see the sign that would lead us to stick it out another day here. With the exception of the few handfuls of wahoo and the few small tuna we caught, there just isn't any spectacular sign of fish here. One thing that is spectacular, the weather. Another day of flat seas, light breeze, and sunshine, and with sunshine comes more bronzing, and a few of us did that too. In time, this area will produce but it's just not right now.

One stop late in the day accounted for all of our tuna. We ended up with 68 yellowfin 6 bluefin 29 yellowtail 7 bonito.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-01-2016 Good afternoon Polaris Supreme fans. Today we ended our Chaparro 5 day trip with a bang!!! We found plenty of kelps holding yellowtail and a few dorado which put smiles on all. It stared off early today with trolling team one setting out their rods and the mast-man up and looking. It didn't take long for our first kelp to come into view. As we pulled up to our first kelp and lines went into the water the yellowtail rushed the boat and and ate our baits. After repeating that several times we got what we needed for the trip. What a way to end the trip! Everyone is breaking down their gear and the crew is ready to clean the boat as we are now headed for San Diego. Gunny and the Supreme Team!
