Ryan Bostian called in to give his Coronado Island Fish Report, "We went out with 50 passengers,we came back with 19 Yellowtail, 3 Calico Bass and 25 Rockfish. Things are definitely on the upswing here at the Coronado Islands. We had a little bit of weather go thru late last week. We had phenomenal fishing right before the storm last week. When the weather went thru it knocked the water temperature down. Things are definitely on the upswing. The water is anywhere from 63 to 65.5 degrees. Very, very clean water. We've had pretty darn consistent Yellowtail fishing down at the Coronado Islands for the last two months.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 06-29 to 30-2016 Hi guys, sorry for the lack of a report yesterday. Yesterday was a tough day caused by the conditions and, especially the sea lions. On the other-hand, today is a hell of a lot better day. We have been steadily picking away at a phenomenal grade of yellowtail all day long. The yellows are eating anything from fly-line sardine and dropper-loop to the surface iron and yoyo jigs. Many people caught their limits today. As far as the plan for tomorrow, we will be trying something different. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Hello Polaris Supreme Fans, After a good night of sleep we started off our day on the anchor in the same area as yesterday. Right at day break we started to see Wahoo jumping around chasing bait not long after we had our first hookup. For the better part on the morning we kept 1-3 fish going. It seem like today the Wahoo wanted the the flyline bait over the jig. Not only did the Wahoo want to bite but the school size tuna also wanted to play too. Around lunch time the bite slowed so we pulled anchor and went trolling around looking, It didn't take us long to find another pack of hungry Wahoo and tuna. Once again we finished our day off on the anchor with a great pick on Wahoo and tuna. There are still spots available on our 10 day coming up. Hello Everyone, Today we had a nice day of Yellowtail fishing. We were able to pick at Yellowtail for the first half of the day until around lunch time. The majority of the Yellowtail came on the YoYo jig. After that we were only able to catch Bonito and Barracuda. We have beautiful weather down here and will be targeting Yellowfin Tuna and Yellowtail tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

52 yellowtail 7 bluefin. Another fine day of island fishing. All techniques produced.

Aug 16
    We started our morning off again in the local bluefin zone.  Things felt a little better.  There were only about half the boats that were there the day before.  It had a much less claustrophobic feel to it.  Unfortunately the bluefin didn't seem to care.  It was on the slow side.  In 4 hours we managed 9 of them with 20 yellowfin to go along with them.  We left for the day and looked around for schools.  We scratched here and there throughout the day.  We had some reports of spots of 100+ pounders up so we made it there for the evening hit but never found a school of those.  We did catch some nice grade yellowfin though so with those and the sign of the 100 + pounders we know where we're starting tomorrow.  But first things first, we're going to run into the beach and try for bait tonight and as I write this we just finished up and we're headed back out with a couple tanks of mackerel and a couple tanks of sardine that we still have for ammo.
                            

 

As the sun was setting on our final “offshore” trip of 2020. The moon was rising over the Coronado islands. Today we scratched 60 small yellowtail off of various kelps. Tomorrow’s trip has been cancelled due to lack of reservations. All of our trips in December will be fishing the islands and will require a passport. Reservations are very important this time of year.

We have a Berkley sponsored open charter this Friday. This will be the first trip after Ling cod opens. There will be give away packs for everyone.
