27 yellowfin(20-60lbs) 16 yellowtail 2 dorado. The anglers who were willing to change their bait out every 60 seconds were rewarded with beautiful grade yellowfin tuna. Belly and shoulder hooked baits on 30-50lb line and a small circle hook worked best.

Still heading up today. Prospecting for Tuna. Limited loads and culinary excellence is a huge factor in every long range fishing experience. From 1.5 - 23 days we always keep the standard set high! Here we have veteran crewmen Chris, nick name (Slider) dishing out some sliders on a recent 1.5 day trip for an afternoon snack, right before the delicious final night Filet Mignon dinner. Polaris Supreme Trip Reports 08-03-2016 Today's trip has us departing on Henry Hampton's four-day trip. This is Henry's second year chartering the boat and it looks like he has quite a few new anglers. One thing about them looks the same though there are excited to get out and get at some good quality fishing. So off we go! We left the bait receivers with some of the most ratty bait that we've seen all year. Luckily we have a good supply in our center slammer that we have been rat holing for a few trips now. Departing this afternoon judging our options we have decided to try a little something different there is some new good-looking water and signs of yellows in a new area. As always happens the old areas are drying up fast. We have good weather today and a forecast of good weather tomorrow wish us luck. The Polaris Supreme crew!

We have a 1.5 day trip this weekend aboard the new boat Pride. Berkley,Penn, and other companies will be on the boat with raffles and giveaways for each passenger. This past week was all about yellowtail and warm water. 40 - 115 yellowtail per trip with a sprinkling of dorado sums up the past week. I attached a photo of the terrafin chart for our area to show you guys all the warm water. Anything over 70 degrees is considered warm and as you can tell we have plenty of it. As a matter of fact finding the cooler water has actually been the key to catching these yellowtail. The most common question this week was "when are the yellowfin going to show up". While I don't have a crystal ball to tell you exactly when they are going to show up. I can tell you that they have made a major northern movement over the past week and there has been yellowfin tuna caught as close as 60 miles.
