Hello everyone how about a little recap of our seven day AHI Charter. We spent two days traveling down to the hot Wahoo grounds in absolutely beautiful flat, whether enjoying the company of all of our good friends old and new! From there proceeded to have some of the most awesome Wahoo fishing for the next three days with a few hundred football yellowfin tuna and a handful of quality Dorado thrown in. The next day we spent scrounging around for a shot at giving everybody a chance to catch a yellowtail. And here we are today traveling up and doing what we always do on the last day hanging out telling stories taking naps and oh yeah we have Wi-Fi so burning up megabytes on Mexicans tell cell. We will be into the dock tomorrow morning and unload our beautiful catch. If you got a chance swing by the landing at daylight and take a peek. The Polaris supreme will be at the dock until November 6 doing boat work and then we will depart on our limited load 10 day trip with Jim Holman and the boys! We still have room for four or anglers if you would like to join us November 6 for some of the most impressive Wahoo fishing we have ever seen in the fall. The Polaris Supreme docked at Fisherman's Landing August 19. Tom Rothery skippered the five-day trip with 24 anglers, and remarked that this Dan Heil memorial trip was the 23rd for the charter group. Jeff Hoover of Richland, WA won first place and took over the top spot in the jackpot and for the best bluefin of the season. "He fought for 45 minutes," said Geoff. "He was the strongest fish I ever felt, and my best fish ever. He beat me up!" Hoover said he baited a sardine on a 3/0 Super Mutu hook. He used 40-pound line, a Penn two-speed reel and a Seeker Black Steel 6470 rod. Bob Hagan of Ramona was second for a 38-pound Opah that erred on a sardine. Mike Myer of La Mirada won third place for a 37.6-pound albacore, but declined to stand in the lineup, so Gene McKenna of San Jose stepped up with his 30-pound dorado.

The morning started off right with steady tuna and yellowtail fishing shortly after daylight. We remained until 10 am when we pulled it and tried to finish off with some more wahoo. We had a few stops for a dozen skin and are now headed home. We have had a great trip with an outstanding group of anglers, excellent weather and delicious food. Hi friends. Well, the morning bait/Yellowtail bite didn't quite pan out this morning so we decided to get our butts offshore and try to connect with some open water species. We managed to find a bunch of kelps and we had some action on some Yellowtails that way but we never located a school of Bluefin that wanted to bite. We did see a few schools of BFT as did the other boats in the area but they were reluctant to bite for any of us. Hopefully, tomorrow is a new day and these things will get with the program.

We'll be giving this a half a day or so tomorrow to see if we can't do some damage on the BFT tomorrow before we have to book it for home. Our weather was absolutely flat calm all day with a heavy overcast but the sea and wind conditions were stellar. We've got a little rain washing the boat as of right now (23:42 hours) and a few brave souls are downstairs trying for some squid. I'd better go see what they're up to.

There are still spots open on our 1.5 day leaving tomorrow! There are biting yellowfin and bluefin to be had! 

27 yellowfin(20-60lbs) 16 yellowtail 2 dorado. The anglers who were willing to change their bait out every 60 seconds were rewarded with beautiful grade yellowfin tuna. Belly and shoulder hooked baits on 30-50lb line and a small circle hook worked best.

Polaris Supreme trip report 11-25-18. We departed today on a six-day Guadalupe trip. We got out with a nice load of bait that we already had on board left over from last trip. We literally checked in our passengers and loaded and left. A nice early start! The previous seven days we were out for a private seven-day trip to go fish Wahoo! It was an absolute hundred percent success we came in a day early. Here are a few pictures of some of the folks in their catch. We will be out at Guadalupe Island by 10 o'clock tomorrow morning and looking to tie and to some hundred pounders. Wish us luck! The Polaris Supreme Crew.
