keynoter Fishing Report 2025

Today was a rigging day. We spent most of the day rolling down the line. During our travels we hit a patch of water that was incredibly blue and clean. In that stretch of water we managed to land one Dorado. A nice surprise. Aside from that it was a very leisure travel day. Tuna and Wahoo are in our sights for tomorrow.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-13-2016 Good evening readers! We departed on Archie Steele's annual five day fishing trip. We left the harbor with a beautiful load of mid size sardines. There are a couple anglers who are new to the Polaris Supreme and we are eager to show them the Supreme experience! We will be fishing for yellowtail early tomorrow morning. Today we spent the day trying for Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna. It was a grind but we were able to catch some Yellowtail, great grade Tuna, and some Wahoo. Not the red hot bite that we were hoping for but still a good time none the less. We also had to make bait tonight. It went great. Lots of mackerel came aboard and we have plenty to fish with. We will try it again tomorrow for the hoos and Tuna. Pictured here is Mick with a large Yellowtail and crewmen Jake (the Snake) and Morgan doing some shaking in the wee hours of the morning.

"Here it is 10:30 in the morning and we already have 16 Yellowtail on the boat," said on an enthused Captain Ryan. He went on, "They seem to be biting a little bit here today. We're having a nice stop, we just gaffed one. Fly line baits are once again the way to go. 25 lb. test is what you should use. We've been seeing these fish down here, some of them bite, some do not. We've had a good shot at them this morning. We have 16 on the boat with 30 anglers. So it's a relatively light load for what we have been carrying. We've had some loads on here the last couple of weeks. The way I look at it, it is like a restaurant. You never want to eat at a restaurant that doesn't have any people at it.

"Come on down and join us. We go out every day, 5:30 AM we depart Seaforth Sportfishing. Bring a 25 lb. live bait rod, bring a 40 lb. rod to Yo-Yo with and you will be all geared up. This fish are right in the 20 lb. class, some bigger, some smaller. Have a good day, I'll check back later with a final report."

Captured this nice #25 Halibut today, looked at quite a bit of Yellowtail that was not biting. 

After a juicy prime rib dinner and a movie last night, the guys were fast asleep. Today after breakfast we did our tuna and wahoo fishing seminars. After lunch we spent the afternoon reading, leaders, rods, reels, and putting together a few spare gaffs. Our bait looks beautiful and the weather going down great. There is a couple of guys who couldn't make it this year that we already miss being around. Charlie we miss you doing laps. Hope your wife is doing well. And Jimmy, Javier said today would have been a great day for bean soup! Our evening consisted of chicken Cordon Blue, another movie and back to bed. Tomorrow we may do a little fishing for meals and hors d'oeuvres. We will let you know how it goes.

Today was one of those days in which our anglers and ourselves will probably remember for the rest of our lives. Not because of the amount of fish we caught, but the tremendous shows these fish put on. It all began this morning when we found a fishy area on our way to a spot in hopes of wahoo, tuna and grouper. We spotted a nice bird school in some beautiful looking water. When it first came into sight, still a couple miles away, we saw some 30lb grade tuna jumping around in the middle of it. When we got up to it, the scene was a bit different. The tuna were pushed off of it by a jumbo school of big stripped marlin. And what a show they put on for us. A couple of our anglers presented their bait or jigs in the right place and the right time and hooked into these big beautiful fish. They where tail-walking and jumping high out of the water everywhere. On top of that, we were constantly seeing free-swimming marlin on all sides of the boat. Some even came within five feet of the boat! There were literally hundreds of marlin around the boat. It was truly a sight to behold! Finally, after battling and releasing all the marlin we hooked, we carried on making our way to one of our spots that has been extremely productive for big wahoo, tuna and grouper the past couple months for us. When we got there we quickly boated a couple handfuls of very nice mid-sized yellow fin tuna. Even though the tuna where present, there was little to no sign of wahoo. All of our anglers having wahoo on their mind, we decided to make our way to a spot about nights run from where we were. We will be there at the crack of dawn tomorrow. Hello everyone, Today we had a hit on the better grade Bluefin Tuna. They were 30-40lbers, beautiful fish. There was also some Yellowtail and Yellowfin mixed in as well. Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to catch some Bluefin to add some variety and size to the fish hold. Will report again later, Team Supreme
