Fishing was slow today. We had a handful of fish weighing in at 70-170 lbs. We are going to make a move and go look for bigger and better. Weather is still beautiful. Dinner was a delicious saut?©ed veal cutlet, pasta and roasted fresh veggies.

We got a little bit of something throughout the whole day. Everywhere we went we got yellowtail, but no real bug hits. Our morning bite had great quality but not as many as yesterday. Our weather is still good because of the island. Tomorrow we will be in open water on patties looking for dorado, tuna and yellowtail. Great fresh yellowtail and shrimp scampi for dinner. Tom Rothery docked his Polaris Supreme at Fisherman's Landing August 4 following a five-day limited load trip with 18 anglers. It was the Tom Chaparro charter, and Tom was aboard, winning the jackpot. Chaparro's tuna weighed in at 66 pounds. It took a sardine on a 4/0 Eagle Claw hook on 50-pound Blackwater fluorocarbon leader and 65-pound Line One Spectra. Tom fished with a Trinidad 40 reel and a Calstar 665 H rod. Mark Arbunich of Pacifica won second place for a 62.8-pound tuna, and Travis Donahue of Norco got third place for a 61.6-pound Guadalupe yellowfin tuna.

The 3 days of wind dropped the water temp a couple of degrees. Ended our day with full Mexican limits of yellowtail 4 dorado 3 skipjack. Conditions should improve with a few days of good weather.

Hi friends. A little weekend wrap-up for you all to update our doings down at the boatyard. The hull and outer bulwarks are completely finished and it looks amazing. Jesus and the boys did a fantastic job and the only parts left to paint are the inner bulwarks, the deck and we've spent the better parts of Friday and Saturday sanding, grinding, and acid washing the "bus stop" and the bait tank so that they can be painted this upcoming week. Starting on Monday, along with the painting, it's time to get prepared to ready the boat to get back in the water and hopefully, we'll be placed back in the water on either Friday or next Monday. Our fingers are crossed!

With that, we'd like you all to keep Jed in your thoughts and prayers. Last Friday, Jed was involved in accident with a machete and severed a tendon in his thumb. He is supposed to have surgery this week to repair the tendon and his expected recovery time will be all the way until August. Obviously, Jed won't be on the boat for a few months so keep him in your thoughts and we'll let you know how he's doing now and then.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in this morning with an update from the Tribute. So far off to a great start we have over 75 mixed fish. We have 30 Bluefin Tuna (20 to 45 pounds). We have 40 Yellowfin Tuna and a handful of Yellowtail. Extended 1.5 day trip departing at 5 PM on Friday night. We have seen some tuna up to 120 pounds caught in this zone.

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP REPORT 09-24-2020 Beautiful day traveling today. Be at the fishing grounds in the morning. Sea ya then. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

"This trip was as planned," said Polaris Supreme skipper Drew Henderson at Fisherman's Landing October 15. "It went perfectly." He had just returned for a seven-day excursion south, with 24 anglers. Brian Henricks of San Pedro won first place for a 123-pound tuna. He said he bagged it with a sardine on a 3/0 ringed Super Mutu hook, tied to 50-pound fluorocarbon leader, 50-pound pink Ande line and 65-pound Spectra backing on a Tiagra 20 reel and a six and a half-foot custom Shikari rod. "He kicked my butt," remarked Henricks, "for an hour and a half." Scott WEolff of Simi Valley was second for a 109.4-pounder, and he was tied by John Drnello of Templeton, who got his 109.4-pounder on 40-pound line. He said it was the first big fish of the trip.
