clearwater Fishing Report 2025

The annual Burgesons private charter went the distance today. They were rewarded with limits of dorado and 13 yellowfin tuna.

Captain Jodie Morgan called in from the Apollo to let us know they have 70 Bluefin Tuna (up to 50 pounds) as of 10:25 AM. The Apollo is one the first day of a two day trip. The Apollo is current booked solid with charters but we do sometimes help out charter masters with getting a few people. Ryan Bostian checked in to tell us what the San Diego is doing. "The kids are back in school and if you have been waiting for an opportunity to get on the boat, with a light load, this is definitely the time for you. The Coronado Island have had very good Yellowtail signs. It has been inconsistent. We see them one day, we don't see them the next. The bite one day, they don't bite the next.

"Rockfish make up most of the counts, they last couple of days. But we always keep our eye out for Yellowtail. I don't think this season is over by any means. The water is still very warm. There is plenty of 70 degree water around. Reports have Yellowfin tuna moving up the line and there are plenty of Bluefin around. The problem with the Bluefin is finding fish that want to bite. It is just like the Dorado. There are plenty of Dorado, they just are hesitant to bite.

"It seems like the ocean is in a transition. I expect to see some good counts in a week or so. Our reservations are very light. If you've been waiting to get on the boat, with 40 or 50 of your closest friends; this is definitely the time to come on down. Make your reservations at 619-224-3383. Hello Everyone, Today we had great Tuna fishing on the better grade fish. We were able to be selective and tag the Tuna between 20-40lbs. It was not wide open but we were able to pick for most of the day. We were even able to land one stand out 70 lber. An incredible fish in the mix. We will be trying to fill in the cracks with quality Tuna, Wahoo, Yellowtail, and Grouper Tomorrow. Will Report again tomorrow, Team Supreme

Hi friends. We made a morning of a steady yellowtail pick but it was pretty much a one shot deal. We picked and scratched for a couple of stops after our initial morning deal but it was pretty apparent to us that greener pastures lie somewhere else. About mid-morning time, we began motoring on south to see if we can't set ourselves up for some tuna and wahoo tomorrow. We enjoyed hot, windless traveling weather and many of our anglers and crew took the opportunity to get their bronze on and let me tell you, it was good bronzing today. Anyhow, we're getting some rest in anticipation for tomorrow. Wish us luck and we'll keep you updated on our progress.

July 18
    We had an action filled morning today.  The yellows were biting good.  The only downside was it didn't last long.  For whatever reason breakfast only lasts an hour and a half.  We found another area that we worked on for a little bit then it went down.  After about 10:00 in the morning things were lifeless here until 5:00 this evening.  We had a couple shots at them before dinner was over for the fishies.  We're going to stay the night and hope things change here for the better.  We're hoping breakfast lasts longer and that there will be a lunch.  Theres plenty of fish around here when they're up and the grade of fish is wonderful so we want to stay.
                                

 

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-06-2016 Hello everyone our morning started off with something different around the boat as we started our day of fishing for the bluefin tuna. What was it? Squid!! And yes we scooped up some to use for bait. sure enough we put it to good use with our first bluefin tuna of the morning being hooded on it. With live squid and sardines we did well today. Like Art Gutierrez landing a bluefin tuna over 90 pounds after a long and hard battle. most of the fish were 60-90 pounds. And yes we did have several heartbreaks which is part of the game with fish of this size. But we did land our fair share today. Great fishing all around.
