Well so much for the great weather staying with us.

Today was rough and choppy. However, the wahoo fishing made up for it.

Fishing on the wahoo was fantastic. The tuna on the other hand were nonexistent. But man did we have a fun day. Dinner of course was fresh wahoo encrusted in macadamia nuts with a lemon butter sauce. Very moist and juicy. Saffron rice and mixed fresh veggies also adorned the plate. Great day, great fishing.

Polaris Supreme arrived August 2 under skipper Drew Henderson's hand. Drew docked at Fisherman's Landing and offloaded his fish and 21 anglers, following a five-day trip. "We fished offshore and at Cedros Island," he said, "and the water at Cedros was clean green and back up to 69 degrees. The yellowtail are huge at the island, and a lot of these guys had their best ever. Albacore fishing is still tough, but the water's gorgeous." Scott Oberg of El Centro won first place for a 44-pound yellowtail he bagged with sardine on a 2/0 ringed Mutu hook on 40-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon, 40-pound P-Line, a Trinidad 20 reel and a Calstar 760 rod. Russell Ortez of Garden Grove won second place for a 43-pounder, and Don Carson of San Diego won third for a 32-pound yellowtail.

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP REPORT 09-18-2020 Nice morning fishing 18 to 22 lb. Yellowtail in more great weather. We ended our fishing part of the trip just before lunch and will be traveling home all day tomorrow. The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Polaris supreme Trip date 08-01-2019 We got a nice early start today on Tom Chaparro's annual Windham / Wells Memorial eight day chart.This is a special limited to 18 anglers trip dedicated to the discriminating angler who likes comfort without a crowd! Our bait supply looks good and the weather traveling down was good all afternoon. Although it might be a little bumpy going the other way up swell back towards home.We have a lot of familiar faces on board and are looking forward to a fun trip with the boys. Wish us luck! Sept. 30

Jodyyyyy! We did it! We got all fixed up on dorado today. You got all fixed up on dorado today. Everyone reading this got all fixed up on dorado today. It all went down after lunch. We drove by something floating, stopped the boat, and we saw colors everywhere, they were in the air, they were all around us. It was my first wide open dorado bite while listening to Poisons "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" playing in the back ground. So scratch that off the list. A tremendous amount of pressure has been lifted off of everyone on board. And yes, we celebrated with a cigar. Mmm. Other then that we watched a couple movies while we rigged tackle, Charlie did a bunch of laps around the boat, the Jer Bear slept all day and the rest of everyone just relaxed and enjoyed the outstanding weather once again. One more full day of traveling. After we go to bed tomorrow, we will be waking up at our destination. See you all tomorrow.

Well we wound up the last day of fishing with some good offshore action on kelp patties. Everybody pulled on a lot of fish and kept 2 or 3 nice quality yellowtail and dorado to take home. Weather is absolutely superb. And so was our final dinner, steak and lobster. We'd like to thank Eric Rogger and his group for such a fun trip. 32 large bonito today. Weather is keeping us tied to the dock for a few days. Next available trip is Friday. Make those reservations.

22 pass. 9 bluefin tuna from 50-100 lbs. A 50 lb setup with a 1/0 circle hook and a 4-6 oz torpedo sinker above the hook was the hot ticket. We also hooked a few fish on 200 gram Shimano flatfalls.
