Today was a nice mixed day. The day started off with 3 Tuna hungry Grouper on the big gear! they wanted the rocks bad, but our anglers wanted them more! Later we were able to catch some Wahoo and bigger Dorado on Kelps. A well rounded quality day down south. We are looking forward to what tomorrow brings, Team Supreme

POLARIS SUPREME TRIP UPDATE FOR 11-02-2020 TO 11-07-2020 Well what have we been up to the last 6 days? We departed early on day zero, the Second in good weather and with a great group of passengers. The group is a composite of Jim Holeman's group , Stan Vanderburg's , Clarence Cole and friends and a few others. All solid fun anglers. On departure we loaded up some great looking sardines we hope to last 10 days. Stan spent the day passing out an unbelievable amount of give away's and setting up a prize of a rod and reel for the first tuna caught over 30 lbs and a reel for the the first wahoo caught on a home made lure. The weather was beautiful . Day one was a travel day spent doing our usual fishing seminar, Stan passing out more swag, rigging, eating and napping in good weather. Day two started off looking for kelp patty's holding Dorado and Wahoo. After a morning with no luck we deployed our own FAD ( Fish Aggregating Device) with a satellite buoy. Late in the day we got into good fishing on 12 to 40 pound Yellowfin tuna that saved the day. Day three wahoo fishing was pretty good and the tuna was in the 12 to 15 lb. range with no sign of the 20 to 40 lb. one's. Still great weather. Day four we where hoping for a repeat on the wahoo that didn't happen. Saddened by a Sukey morning we busted a move to check out our FAD. Holey Mollee 48 Hour's soaking and the thing was loaded with Dorado! We spent an hour or so catching and releasing before heading to some new tuna grounds. Some of you are wondering why we keep so few Dorado now days? Well you see 2 Dorado count as 5 fish in your over all fish count and most anglers only keep a couple if any at all choosing to catch and release. Arriving at the tuna grounds to slow fishing we where stoked to see it go wide open at dusk making it a great Tuna Dorado day in Slick Calm Weather. Day five making a big move today! Scratched a few Tuna this morning and hit the road trying to beat the massive storm hitting California. Weather is still OK. Will check in in a few days. Saturday, July 28th, 2012

Good evening, friends. We departed on an open party 5-day trip today with a healthy load of people and a healthy load of bait. Our weather traveling down is quite nice and we're looking like the weather is going to clean up for the next few days, so we're pumped. As far as the fishing outlook, one boat in the area today did equally phenomenal on bluefin and yellowfin. Straight up.We'll be in the area tomorrow and we'll chat you up tomorrow on our day.

Getting back to yesterday, we'd like to thank Paul Hess and his crew that tagged along with him this year. If I recall, this was Paul's 12th annual trip and we look forward to seeing him, his son, Matt, and the rest of the gang that comes back year after year (thanks for bailing, Boomhower. More bluefin and yellowfin for us.) Anyhow, It's a fantastic trip, one of my favorites every year, and we'll see y'all next year.

Today we fished the Coronado Islands along with a couple of 1 day boats and the usual 3/4 day fleet. Conditions in the morning were backwards and needless to say the fishing was slow. Thru ought the day the conditions improved and when it was all said and done we had 10 yellowtail on the deck. We fish the Coronado Islands everyday. Come join us !

Aug. 24

Good evening from the Polaris Supreme. We're just starting off with our two week span of 1 1/2 trips. The first bait loading didn't go too swell. It looked like a rave party in the crowder when we loaded it. All sorts of fun colors with the silver shiny glitter(scales) being the dominate color with red coming in a close second. It is what it is. Hopefully we find something to use it on early tomorrow because I'm not so sure they will be swimming come lunch time. After that they'll just have to bite the dead bait which I have seen the yellowfin do countless times before. So here we go, Prime Ribbing it now, some z's in the future and then fishing it tomorrow.

 

ISLANDS ARE ON THE MEND ! 35 yellowtail (12-25 lbs) on the boat so far for just 20 anglers. Flylined Sardines on 25 & 30 lb monofilament has been the best. Stay tuned for a final report.

Nov. 8

                Long range fishing.  We're back.  We departed today on a wonderful 10 day trip.  An ultra limited load 10 day trip.  A fisherman's dream.  We got some bait.  We loaded up on half 6-8 inch beauts, and then half 4-6 inchers that will chum well and fish well enough.  The weather right now couldn't be better.  We're just rolling down hill enjoying life.  We got some rest and did part 1 of our 3 part seminars.  We did that today because we're fishing tomorrow morning.  It's been pretty darn good school grade tuna fishing where we'll be in the morning lately, and we're going to try and get a starter kit tomorrow.  We're just hoping the fore casted wind will hold up long enough for that.  Yup, the wind is coming and it doesn't look like it's going to be very nice for the next few days.  Oh well.  It is what it is.  We'll be doing some traveling through it on a downhill course but it's going to end up effecting some of our early fishing conditions for sure.  But then it goes away and becomes lovely again for hopefully the rest of the trip.  I'm looking forward to writing to you folks out there the next 10 days.  I hope I have nothing but good things to write.  Time will tell.

                                                                                               

Welcome back. We departed today on a 7 day trip. We're currently heading down the coast unsure of a starting point. We're in a good position as far as making a decision. We have a good spread of boats in different areas so we'll have a good check on the ocean. We'll either keep rolling down tonight or stop short for an afternoon of yellowtail fishing and take it from there.
