The offshore beat goes on! Funny how things just seem to work out when you try as hard as possible and keep a positive outlook. 2 weeks ago when the fleet received word that we had to check in at Ensenada in order to fish the Mexican coast. Many boat owners including myself were very concerned about the remainder of the 2012 season. With our backs against the wall and very little options we headed offshore. Our first few trips we scratched at bluefin tuna and yellowtail.

In the past five days we have been averaging 20-40 mixed fish, a nice mix of dorado and yellowtail. Today we had a very welcome visit from an 18 lb. albacore. While the political issues concerning the Mexican coast are being worked on we will continue to fish offshore. These offshore trips are 5:30-7:00 and are limited to 50 passengers cost is $115 and includes a fishing license. Past history shows that the offshore bite should only improve for us as we move deeper into the summer and into fall. Come join us!

Another outstanding opportunity to fish aboard the Apollo with a great group of fishing folks! There are 4 Openings on a 2 Day Trip on September 22 & 23 (Thurs. & Fri.), departs Sept. 21 (Wed.). Fall Fishing Season doesn't get any better.

Looks like we're going to have a light load for tomorrow's trip. I just talked to a boat out on the ocean right now and they said the weather is good. The large swell is very spread out making the ocean conditions nice. Myself and the crew will be heading out tonight for live squid. Call Seaforth at 619-224-3383 for reservations !

Fishing today was sporadic. It had it's moments, but overall we just scratched with a variety of Albacore, Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail and Dorado. It was a pretty even mix of everything. Our weather continues to be excellent. So we will try again tomorrow and hope for more of the same, but a little bit better.

It's time for dinner. Chicken Cordon Blu is on the menu for tonight.

Capt Mike Pritchard from the Tribute letting us know they still have a few spots left on tonights 1.5 day trip departing out of Seaforth landing departing at 8pm. Looks like the weather will be great this weekend, there have been some yellowfin around we know where the Bluefin are and they should start biting at any given time. Capt Mike Pritchard of the Tribute called in on the first day of a 2 day charter, we have over 60 Yellowfin of a really nice grade. We currently have 3 hanging and they are ranging from 25 - 30 pounds, with a couple in the low 40 pound range. Very good fishing and they are even biting the popper, which makes it even more exciting. Hopefully we will have more today and tomorrow, we will check back in later.
