Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-15-2019 Lots of rigging, snacking and napping! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

This trip had a little of everything. (1) stressed out captain because he thought we might get skunked. (2) line shy, finicky tuna that would only bite light line. (3) Wide Open, heavy line eating, 45 going, madness. (4) a really cool shark that hung with us while we caught 198 yellowfin tuna.

Capt Matt has called in an early report of 20 bluefin and 10 yellowtail with 5 fish still hanging. Spots are going fast so make those resos. Passports are required for all trips that fish within 12 miles of Mexican Territory. The Coronado Islands fall into that category.

Hi friends. We departed early this afternoon on an open party two-day trip with a nice load of folks hoping to find themselves on some gamefish come Saturday. We have a lot of new folks on this trip and a lot of familiar faces joining us for the weekend, so we're pumped. Our gameplan is to run a little below the area we were fishing on Thursday as there were some schools of Bluefin seen and we'll try our luck at some kelp paddies as well. Anyhow, our weather is very pleasant and our passengers are in good spirits and we'll be fishing at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning, Hopefully, we'll awake to a big ole, fat school under the boat, ready to eat. Polaris Supreme Trip Update 10-01-2018

We had a great day of Wahoo fishing! We woke this morning to choppy weather.  After telling the passengers that Wahoo don't like rough weather, we proceeded to have our best day so far on Wahoo.  Tom who had been trying for 40 years to catch one caught two!  And then there was at the guys who have never got one before that also ended up with a couple. Whether looks like it is going to be nice tomorrow in the yellowtail grounds.

Hopefully this wahoo from the last trip is a good sign of what is to come on our next trip depending tomorrow. A seven day wahoo specific adventure!

The San Diego checked in tonight with an update from Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Captain Cameron Cribben ran the boat today! We had 31 anglers and caught 56 Bluefin Tuna and 91 Yellowtail. Today was a big day and it looks like the fish are back on the bite.

Oct. 12

Well we had a super busy day aboard the Polaris Supreme today. It all began at 4:00 a.m. when the crew woke up and started pulling our catch of cows and wahoo out of the fish holds. We tied up dockside at 6:00, off loaded all the passengers gear and then the fish. It was a long process. We got everything up to the top of the docks and then came the weigh in. I believe we ended up with 16 over 200 pounds and the one we taped at 297 ended up being just that. Damn. 3 pounds off. What a bummer? It was still a personal best for our friend George. Way to go sir.

After that there was a big work list to be done to prepare for the next trip but we got ur done and departed on Joe Gigliotti's 3rd annual Accurate sponsored 8 day trip this afternoon. We got a good load of bait and we're currently in route to the bluefin grounds. There was a couple of lucky boats today and many wiffs but we're going to try and get lucky tomorrow. It sure would be nice to get the sweat off on some 40-60 pound b.f.'s tomorrow let me tell you. So that's it. Good weather, good food and good company. Mostly regulars on this trip. There's only a couple of new faces. We'll keep you posted.
