Oct. 15

We had an awesome morning of yellowtailing today. Not long after daylight we started getting 18-25 pounders and it wouldn't stop for the next 4 hours or so. It was lovely. The set up was good. Hardly a breath of wind, bay style sea conditions and the fish were plentiful. I kept day dreaming of the Yellowtail fish head soup and the yellowtail sandwich I'll make when I get home after this trip. Mmmm. Around 11:00 the fish stopped biting but we were planning on it so we took advantage of that and we spent the rest of the day traveling down to the wahoo grounds. We did a wahoo seminar before lunch, then we ate carnitas tacos and then the rest of the day we got our wahoo leaders together while we looked for a kelp with dorados and whatever else we could catch with them though the kelps we did see weren't holding anything other then a few micro tunas. So we'll be in the grounds first light tomorrow in the wahoo mode.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-26-2018 Our early departure paid off today! We were able to get into the island early enough to get the tuna located and get a good bite on them in the afternoon. The fish were mostly 60 to 80 pound range, maybe a few bigger. Our big fish was 145 pounds! One of the guys got three several guys got two and most everybody else got a least one. Our weathers great, we have a great group of passengers and were all having a wonderful time. Will check in with you tomorrow! The Polaris Supreme Crew!

Good evening to all readers. We're fishing the second annual Bogart Construction short range trip. We departed this evening around four, got some bait and are currently serving our beautiful cuts of the prime rib as I write this. We'll fish all day tomorrow and head it back for home on yet another turn around. It sounds like it was a down day today in the offshore grounds with not so good of weather so we're glad we were at the dock today. Tomorrows forecast shows the wind backing off and with that hopefully the fish float. We'll see.

Osterkamp charter had to work hard for every bite but in the end we achieved our goal. (1) made it home safe. (2) enjoy the ocean with friends and family. (3) every one of our 43 customers caught a fish as we ended with 61 yellowfin tuna.

Hello Everyone, It has been pretty action packed today. Starting with biting Yellowfin Tuna in the dark then, changing to picking at Grouper and Wahoo during the day. Now settling back into a night time pick on the Yellowfin Tuna. It seems like there is always something going on. We are loving the variety and cannot wait for what tomorrow brings. Today we had about 7-10 wahoo and several tuna. Four nice ones around 170 lbs., and some smaller ones (many released) 50-60 lbs. We lost 4 nice ones, 2 thought to be over 200 lbs. The guys are pretty tired putting in 36 hours of fishing time. Most only had 3-4 hours of sleep.
