EXCELLENT ROCKCOD FISHING NOW!!! Our first trip with 24 anglers bagged 223 Rockfish and 17 Lingcod. APOLLO'S January/February Rock Cod trips are now online and ready to be booked! We will continue running every Friday evening through February. Cost for these trips is $235 a person which includes your bait bunk and Mexican permit. Today was mainly a travel day. We have a strong current working against us so we only had time for a couple drifts. However we did manage to land some 15 lb Yellowtail bottom fish. Our ETA for tomorrow is 530 to the dock.

Yesterday we went out with 26 anglers. Final fish count for our day was 2 lingcod 2 sheephead 75 red rockcod and full Mexican limits of rockfish. Our next trip is Sunday February 10. Call Seaforth Sportfishing at 619-224-3383 for reservations.

30 pass. 37 trophy bluefin tuna. Today’s group was prepared and took full advantage of an amazing opportunity.

Captain Ryan Bostian checked in this evening. We had 18 passengers catch 6 bluefin tuna from 70-110 pounds. We landed about 1/3 of what we hooked. All you need is a 20 lb Rod for smaller yellowfin. A 50 lb bait Rod with 3/0 circle hooks and a couple 4 oz. torpedos for big fish. And a 60 lb. Rod to fish a flatfall.

 Good afternoon, on our final afternoon of the 7th Annual Blue-White Industries Charter.  I'm looking out the window of the wheel house while I write you guys at just amazing weather and waiting for another beautiful sunset. This was by far the best trip yet that Robin has put together.  The fishing ended with a day that was second to none. Just about picture perfect weather, fishing that boiled down to if you wanted a limit of Yellowfin tuna, you could have had it. Most of the guys were catching and releasing long before lunch time. You couldn't ask for it to be any better!  I've personally been on every trip that Robin has put together, and we saw total improvement since the first year. The guys work great together at the rail, followed their fish, and even handled almost all og their own tackle rigging needs. I was impressed at how far they've come. Way to go guys!
 Robin asked me to share some notes from himself personally so I shall. "This 5 day Charter was perhaps our most interesting trip yet. Non-stop yellowfin tuna fishing in 100% American waters. Daily jackpot fish were all over 30 lbs. The Polaris Supreme is by far the finest run long-range sportfishing boat in the San Diego fleet. 5 staruisine, top tier crew Captain TommyRothery, 2nd Captains Tommie "Gunny" Miles and Jed Scott, deckhands Mark Clark and Mikey Mays, and galley crew Chef David Schooler and last but not least Gringo". 
 So for the final night cuisine Chef is preparing a roasted rosemary organic chicken with white wine gravy, mashed potatoes and French cut green beans with mushrooms followed by nice big hot-fudge sundae to end it. We certainly do not go hungry around here. We certainly can't forget the wine of the evening, 2011 Argyle "Nut house" Pinot Noir.
  So in closing, we missed all who couldn't make back on this final Blue-White Charter, although there are some rumors of some future outings with some of the guys, but we shall see. Things definitely slowed down today! You can tell it's on the downswing. If a guy works at it though he could put together a day if you stay with it! Took off from the island heading to Ensenada early and our weather is definitely snotty to say the least! Should be in late tomorrow afternoon Friday, and on time into San Diego on Saturday morning. Looking forward to having Vernon and the boys out on their annual five day charter to Guadalupe Island! Don't have much more to say just hanging on trying to stay in my chair and not fly out of the wheelhouse.

Good evening everyone, This morning started early with most anglers fishing a dropper loop before grey light. Fishing was slow with a handful of quality 20 pound class yellowtail being caught with a few nice sized grouper coming over the rail. As the morning progressed, fishing started to pick up with anglers hooking fish on flylined baits, the dropper loop, as well as the sliding sinker rig. A couple of these fish were unwilling to leave their rock homes, and were able to wrap the lines in some of the jagged bottom structure before breaking off. As the sun rose in the sky, we were able to pick off a couple more of these fish before we found the right school. A little before noon, we settled into a school of fish that wanted too bite a little bit better. We were able to keep these fish around the boat for the rest of the day, and would hook a handful at a time as they bit in flurries from 2-7 fish at once. Majority of these yellowtail were in the 20-25 pound class and came off the flylined sardine or mackerel. One 50lb class grouper made its way over the rail which fell victim to a sardine flylined on 30 pound test. With the day winding down, we decided to point the boat toward the kelp zone in order to give ourselves an early shot at some more fish in the morning. Hopefully we will be able to capitalize on what has already been a great trip with an awesome group of fishermen and women. Will Report again tomorrow, Team Supreme
