st mary`s lake Fishing Report 2025

So far this year we have had absolutely phenomenal yellowtail fishing as well as a better chance than ever, in the history of Southern California to catch a bluefin over 200lbs! We are excited to announce we have multiple openings on trips that will be targeting these big grade of yellowtail, nice yellowfin and trophy size bluefin! The upcoming trips with openings are listed below: 4-day August 2 5-day August 6 5-day August 11 3-day August 2 We hope to see you guys out here soon and put you on some truly Supreme fishing this summer! Sept. 28

Another beautiful day on the Polaris Supreme. Nothing to report really other then great weather, great food and great company. Today we did our wahoo seminar, some light rigging of tackle, and a lot of good old fashioned relaxation. There were some naps, some reading, and a cocktail hour or two and I smelled and partook in some cigar smoking. Mmm, mmm, mmm. We did a little bit of trolling for not much. A couple small tuna not worth keeping and Brian caught Jody a nice dorado. After dinner we made a few drifts for giant squid for not much. We caught some but we want more so we'll try again tomorrow night. Until then we will do more of the same that you read above while we travel down.

Captain Mike Pritchard called in tonight with an update. We finished our trip with 26 Bluefin Tuna, 91 Yellowtail and 2 Dorado. There were some better scores on the Bluefin Tuna if you were in the right spot. So things are looking good out here. We have a trip leaving tomorrow night. Mike Pritchard called in with this report for the Tribute. "We're wrapping up the 1st Day of our 2 Day Western outdoor News Trip. We had great, great fishing today. We caught limits of Yellowtail, 90 Yellowfin tuna, 5 Bluefin, 9 Dorado & a sprinkling of Skipjack.

We're going to shut down for the evening and be back fishing for more tuna in the morning. This is really great fishing regardless of the time of year.

The day started up very well for us. It was good scratching up until just after lunch and fishing took a dump. We looked around the Island for a bit and after making a few stops for a few more fish we took off from there and are now heading west to the big Island. We have a great catch of jumbo yellowtails on board and we're hoping to get some jackpot settling trophy size yellowfin tomorrow. Portuguese style yellowtail for dinner tonight. We had it last trip for the first time and I must say it was by far the best yellowtail I have ever eaten in my life.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-13-2016 Good evening readers! We departed on Archie Steele's annual five day fishing trip. We left the harbor with a beautiful load of mid size sardines. There are a couple anglers who are new to the Polaris Supreme and we are eager to show them the Supreme experience! We will be fishing for yellowtail early tomorrow morning. Sept. 29

Well today was more of the same. We woke up to coffee, machaca and eggs and a Tom Cruise movie. Then we rigged up our heavy gear and did our tuna seminar. Then we trolled it up for a bit and looked at a couple of kelps for some neck tie size dorado which we let go. Then we had a nice taco salad and some kind of a room temp soup which was good and then some chose to take a nap while others chose to listen to football and do what guys do while we listen to football. After that it was dinner time and then a quick nap before arriving to the bait grounds at 11:00 PM. Bait fishing wasn't a great success but we did manage to catch 13 nice size squid that will fish beautifully on the kite. Hey, that's 13 200+ pound tuna as far as I'm concerned. Now everyone is in bed and I'm up driving and writing this.The weather couldn't be better and we're about half way there so a little more relaxation before we get down and dirty for several days straight.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-23-2016 Just a quick shout out to our jackpot winners from the Paul Hess trip. In the dual picture on the left is Joe with a 29.6 pound yellowtail on the right is Ryan first Place with a 34.8 pound yellowtail in the single picture is of Mary with her 33.2 pound yellowtail. Congratulations on the nice fish and sorry it took so late to get them up posted we been really busy looking for more fish and catching fish. The Polaris Supreme Crew !
