170 yellowfin 93 skipjack. Good weather and great fishing, didn’t feel like November today.

44 pass. 156 yellowtail 17 barracuda 5 kelp bass. Flylined bait, surface iron and yo-yo. Passports required.

Hello Everyone, Today we got an incredible head start to our Black Friday 7 day trip. We loaded a great load of bait and got on the road early. We are headed to the ridge or rocks with hopes of Wahoo, Tuna, Dorado, Grouper, and Yellowtail. Tomorrow will be a rigging day. We will decide whereto start fishing tomorrow. Well what the heck! I just went to go get some pictures to post on our wrap up of Tom Chaparros six-day trip! Yes that's right it was a six-day trip not a five! And next year it is going to be a seven-day trip! If you care to join Tom and his gang give Susan a call! He limits his trip to only 18 anglers. Anyways I went to go get some pictures out of our files and all we had was pizza! And then I realized the only slow day of fishing we had out of six days was the day we made pizza! Thus the only day we had time to take pictures! We were too busy gaffing 18 to 22 pound average yellowtail and or 15 To 16 pound average yellowfin tuna! Our fishing was absolutely fantastic. The yellowtail fishing was excellent surface iron and fly line sardine as well was the yellowfin tuna fishing. A iron throwers paradise. One thing I should point out about Tom's trip as well as every trip we've had so far this year is that our weather has been absolutely superb! I think maybe we've only had two choppy days in the last 33. Tom Chaparros seven day trip next year 2018 will be departing on Wednesday August 1 and arriving Wednesday, August 8. After getting to see what great fishing we could get into stretching the trip 1 day and seeing some of the other boats on longer trips getting a shot at the Wahoo it got everyone to want to extend the trip. Please check with Susan and Tom to see if they have openings. We now have the Apollo in beautiful Santa Barbara for the rest of the spring. We are running two Berkley sponsored limited load overnight trips to the Channel Islands. The first trip will depart on Thursday night April 19th at 9 pm to fish on Friday April 20th. The second trip will depart at 9 pm on Thursday night May 17th to fish Friday May 18th. These trips will target Quality Rockfish, ling cod with the chance for some early season halibut or sea bass. Please come join us on the Apollo in Santa Barbara for some fun spring time fishing. We all slept in today as it was our first day off from fishing in a week. We had a later breakfast of pork chop, bacon, eggs and hash browns. After that we broke down and cleaned all of our big tuna gear and put away the harnesses and the terminal tackle and things. Then the crew scrubbed the boat to a nice shiny color while the passengers watched a movie or two. Then we ate cheeseburgers and they were great. And after that it was nap time. So we're all rested and we have a clean boat. We still have a little bit of live sardine left over and some time to use them so we'll be rolling by some fishable waters the next few days and if we see something we'll be able to stop and give it a try whether it be wahoo the next couple of days or bluefin the day before we get back to San Diego. The weather today was as good as you could ever ask for. Flat calm seas and the sun was shining. Lovely. Dinner was wahoo enchiladas and that's all we have to report.

Ryan Bostian checked in from “The San Diego” this afternoon with an update from Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. The Bluefin Tuna are 20 to 120 pounds. Please make sure you are prepared. The Yellowtail are 5 to 10 pounds. Please bring one light rod and one heavy rod. A light rod would be 25 pound or 30 pound test. A heavy rod should be nothing less than 40 pound outfit a 50 or 60 would be better. The Bluefin are biting on a flat fall jig. A perfect out fit for he flat fall jig would be a Talica 12 filled up with 65 pound spectra with a short top shot of 80 pound fluorocarbon. Today we had Captain Cameron running the boat. He had a very respectable day offshore in a crowded ocean. FISH COUNT: 56 anglers caught 2 Bluefin Tuna and 52 Yellowtail.

Steady sonar stops for our 30 anglers produced 104 yellowtail from 12-20 lbs. 40 lb mono on a 20 or 30 size conventional reel and a yoyo jig was the most productive. Trips are filling up fast for this season. Make those resos
