sanibel island Fishing Report 2025

Stopping a school of tuna that is swimming at 8 kts often requires a lot of chum. Thanks to the best bait company in the business @everinghambaitbarge we managed to get a few schools to hang out with us for awhile. 42 bluefin 18 yellowtail.

 Good evening and welcome to the Polaris Supreme. We made it out tonight on one of those day and a halfers we have all over the schedule for the next couple of weeks. We even had one lucky walk up angler who boarded us last minute. He wasn't expecting us at all. Came to fish a local boat and got the Polaris Supreme. He even was wearing our jacket. He had prime rib for dinner. So we'll be fishing tomorrow and then coming home. I'll tell you about it tomorrow.
 The final weigh ins were made. Or I should say weigh in. Justin new he stood no chance so he didn't even weigh himself. Go Mark. 225 with boots on.
 
 

Today we fished the Coronado Islands along with a couple of 1 day boats and the usual 3/4 day fleet. Conditions in the morning were backwards and needless to say the fishing was slow. Thru ought the day the conditions improved and when it was all said and done we had 10 yellowtail on the deck. We fish the Coronado Islands everyday. Come join us !

So far this year we have had absolutely phenomenal yellowtail fishing as well as a better chance than ever, in the history of Southern California to catch a bluefin over 200lbs! We are excited to announce we have multiple openings on trips that will be targeting these big grade of yellowtail, nice yellowfin and trophy size bluefin!  Arrive/depart.  A quick one too.  We were out before 9:30.  We got our bait and we were gone.  We started fishing after lunch.  We had one little area that was loaded up with 5 pound skipjack.  We stopped a few times to let everyone pull and jerk on something and practice following there fish around the boat and stuff.  We had a couple kelps with a few small yellows we caught.  We unfortunately made it to our destination before dark.  I say unfortunately because we were hoping to bump into something sooner.  We saw only a few little dabs of tuna while we had light.  I mean just a few fish, and they didn't bite.  We're currently anchored in the cove here and we're enjoying a nice prime rib dinner and I think we'll sleep well tonight.

 It sounded like it was a better day around here.  Not just catching wise but fishing too.  Never thought I'd say that but what I mean is there was a bigger spread of fish seen today.  They weren't all seen in the same honey hole like most of last week.  We have high hopes for tomorrow.  Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going on break.
      

16 yellowtail 150 calico bass 36 barracuda 65 whitefish 32 sheepshead. Very fun mixed bag fishing in shallow water.
