Nov. 17th

                Well the plan worked.  We stayed tucked behind Cedros Island till 1:30 this morning.  That gave things above time to settle down.  The wind backed off at 10:00 last night and it was a surprisingly nice ride up this morning.  It was a little herky jerky but much better than we thought it would be.  We went full cruise and barely got the windows wet.  Due to the nice ride, we had some time to fish this morning and we found some action.  We hit up this little pinnacle and it had some 14-18 pound yellows hanging out.  We made a few drifts and an anchor job and managed to scratch up more then 2 per rod.  We all needed a little action.  We'll be a little late getting in tomorrow but it's worth it.  We deserved some action after being stuck in the lee yesterday due to the weather.

 

                And that's it.  That's the trip and that's the 2015 season for us.  It's time to hang with the family and be a dad and a husband.  Time for the rest of the crew to do what they do.  Until February that is.  Then we leave on a long one.  It's also time for me to thank all our customers.  Thanks for the year, and thanks for the years.  It's always fun and it's always different.  This year will have a special place in the old memory bank just like all the other years and it's because of most of you reading these posts.  And I just want you to know, that we all appreciate what you do for us, and mostly it's as easy as coming out fishing with us.  THANK YOU!!!!!!

                                                                                               

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 11-27-2018 The tuna started biting right away this morning! We had three going right off the bat in the gray light. We stayed real consistent all the way until about 11 AM keeping 3 to 5 going most of the time. It slowed the rest of the day but we still continue to pick right into the dark. Most of the fish were around 80 pounds with a few in the 60 pound range. Another great day of fishing! Our weather has been great. And of course were going to do this tomorrow. Wish us luck. Very similar to last week with the exception of a big yellowtail day. The potential for a big yellowtail score is definitely out there but several things must come together. On Friday I thought we were going to get our shot. We stopped at a spot and instantly had 8 yellowtail hooked and we were seeing a big school around us. While we were fighting our first 8 fish the motherlode of big bull seal ions came in to ruin our fun. When the dust settled we had only landed 3 and the big school was scared away by the cute cuddly seal ions. Water conditions are about as nice as they could be with temperatures ranging from 67-70 degrees and very clean. The calico bass fishing has been good on the days we get anchovies and the barracuda continue to bite very well at times. All and all we had a very enjoyable week catching surface fish in very nice weather. Hot and sunny in flat calm seas catching gamefish describes our current conditions perfectly. Tackle to bring out remains the same. A 15 or 20 lb. rod to fish anchovies a 25 or 30 lb. rod to fish sardines a 40 lb. jig stick and an assortment of hooks (2's and 2/0's) and small egg or rubber core sinkers (1/8-1/2 oz.) will have you covered.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 08-21-2016 Hello Readers, Today was another beautiful day on the water. Fishing was tough but we made a day out of it. It was definitely quality over quantity today. We are all very optimistic about what tomorrow has in stock for us! Thanks for reading, Team Supreme

Hi friends. Pretty fun day today. One small yellowfin jig strike turned into a plunker on 30-70 lb. bluefin tuna. We had a lot of heartbreaks but we did manage to land a few of those beauties. Love seein' those big brutes. No prettier fish in the ocean, that's for sure. Anyhow, around lunch time, we had to call it a trip and make our way back home. It was a great way to end our day and the Blue/White group is pumped.

Mr. Gledhill is one of the most gracious chartermaster you could ever have and he assembled a great group of guys to take fishing with him. The cocktails and wine are endless and so are the good times. Thanks, Robin.

Anyhow, we'll be arriving to the docks tomorrow at 0600 hours and the boat will be turning around and leaving for a 2-day charter. Look for reports to continue from any number of captains or crewmembers other than myself. Also, we have an 8-day trip leaving after the 2-day that has a few spots on it and in the next couple of weeks, we also have a load of 1 1/2 and 2-day trips on schedule. Hello Everybody,

The reports will now be generated through the office as we are out of our Sat phone range. Our weather is good and we should arrive to the fishing grounds at 4 pm tomorrow, Saturday. The reports of excellent fishing have us all excited. We're just doing the normal stuff, and getting our equipment rigged and ready. Had a great lunch today consisting of the critters we caught yesterday at Alijos Rocks.

Hard to beat the day we had yesterday, but we did.

We improved the already outstanding trip we have going with a taste of wahoo. Found a little honey hole and caught a fair amount on several drifts. When that tried up a few hours later we anchored up and had good tuna fishing from three until dark. The tuna were 25-40 lbs with some in the 70 lb. class. We'll stay the night and will fish half day tomorrow.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 09-22-2016 Today was the same but very much different. It was the same in that we woke up very tired from nighttime fishing for yellowtail last night, it was the same in that we had excellent Wahoo fishing today, it was the same in that we had great weather. What was different was the way we caught the Wahoo. It was all on the anchor. So now we have caught Wahoo on the anchor, Wahoo drifting when they wouldn't bite the jigs, and Wahoo in giant shark Malays trolling. And one other different thing we had great fishing on tuna today. We haven't seen them for a couple days but today they did us right again. We're going to start working up the line and aren't sure if we going to have any time to fish left. We got a long ways to go home! It has been an absolutely fantastic trip in absolutely beautiful weather with a great great group of anglers who are now going to take some long long naps traveling home while breaking down their Tackle.
