michigan dnr Fishing Report 2025

Hello Everyone, Today we had an nice hit on Wahoo. They were big beautiful fish. We managed to get everyone a Wahoo. Along with Wahoo we had some nice Dorado, Tuna, and even a Pargo mixed in. The conditions are really looking up around here! We will be working up trying for Yellowtail Tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme P.S. For anyone who is considering joining us on the next 5 day, be sure to have some extra owner #10 split rings. In case we need to modify the hooks on your jigs for big Bluefin Tuna.

Wow, I think we have to pinch ourselves to make sure it's real. We had an unbelievable day. You could throw a bait in the water any time from day break to dark and catch a tuna. Some anglers released as many as 15 tuna in the 35-45 lb. class. We also scratched a few wahoo. After a delicious dinner of a veal shank, fresh asparagus and red potatoes all our guys and one lady went to bed very tired. Our weather is gorgeous and we are looking forward to another fantastic day tomorrow. Thanks for checking in. Tommy and crew P.S. Captain Ryan Bostian called in the afternoon with an update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay, CA. We have 80 Yellowtail (in the 15 to 20 pound class) at the Coronado Islands. They are biting on dropper loop, yo-yo jigs, and fly-lined baits.

The variety list gets LONGER! Today we had our sights set on big numbers of quality Yellowfin Tuna. However the plan did not unfold as we expected. We found tuna but not the numbers we were looking for. Instead we were able to catch a variety of other species. Including Broom tail and Leopard Grouper, Dorado, bigger grade Yellowtail, and Wahoo. The Hess Charter we are currently fishing with was recently a 5 day trip. They increased the trip to a 7 day in hopes of a larger variety of fish species, they defiantly are getting the mixed bag now! Our sights will be on Wahoo tomorrow. Wish us luck, Team Supreme

Sept. 28

Another beautiful day on the Polaris Supreme. Nothing to report really other then great weather, great food and great company. Today we did our wahoo seminar, some light rigging of tackle, and a lot of good old fashioned relaxation. There were some naps, some reading, and a cocktail hour or two and I smelled and partook in some cigar smoking. Mmm, mmm, mmm. We did a little bit of trolling for not much. A couple small tuna not worth keeping and Brian caught Jody a nice dorado. After dinner we made a few drifts for giant squid for not much. We caught some but we want more so we'll try again tomorrow night. Until then we will do more of the same that you read above while we travel down.

30 pass. 37 trophy bluefin tuna. Today’s group was prepared and took full advantage of an amazing opportunity.

Today was a tough day at the island. There was a lot of fish around but we had trouble getting bites. However the bites we were able to get were great grade. Most being 50-70 lbs and one standout that was well into the mid hundreds. We are going to try our hand at the variety the day after tomorrow. Hopefully Wahoo, Dorado, Grouper, and school sized tuna.
