  Howdy folks.  Arrive depart day today so I don't have any juicy fish stories for you.  We made it dockside by 5:30 in the am.  We had a lovely time of off loading a beautiful catch of yellowtails, then an even better time of fueling the vessel.  When we got back to our slip I was surprised to see my mother who just happened to bring my lovely daughter down to see me.  I didn't know she was coming and did not expect to get to see my Sydney so that just made my day.  But we're out fishing now so it's all business.

  Things went great at the bait receivers.  We topped off on some good looking sardine and we're looking to put them to good use tomorrow.  We have a report from one of our code boats fishing on the grounds we fished last trip offshore wise and it sounds interesting.  A better grade of fish moved in today and we're going to investigate it tomorrow. 

  Everyone on board is just relaxing now or stuffing there face with prime rib.  I'm about to join them.  Mark's trying to diet and it's hilarious.  I've never seen him  give  the slightest about what goes in his stomach and he's going crazy with hunger.  He's a big boy and he's' having chicken fried steak withdrawal.  See you tomorrow.  Hopefully our timing is right on tomorrow and we get some of that action on those better tunas.

Passing up the small numbers of big Bluefin, targeting big variety! We departed today on our annual Hess 7 day charter. We are pointed south targeting Wahoo, Yellowtail, and Yellowfin tuna! The weather is great and the prime rib is Delicious. Will report tomorrow, Team Supreme

We are still seeing plenty of yellowtail at the Coronado Islands. Our counts for the past week have been anywhere from 3 to 48 yellowtail per trip. It seems like if you get around the right school at the right time they will bite. We have seen schools at just about every spot at the islands. Today we went out with 28 passengers and caught 12 yellows. The biggest fish today was a 36 pounder caught on a fly lined sardine. Most of our fish have been in the 20 pound class and have been taken on fly lined sardines on 25 lb. and yo-yo jigs on 40 lb. The weather has been absolutely perfect. We are running everyday. Ryan Bostian called in at the end of the day to update the San Diego's fishing day, "We had 16 fish real early in the morning. We had another good shot at them in the afternoon, we ended up with 29 Yellowtail on the boat. This style of fishing and this size of fish I would say that we are landing about half of the fish that we hook. We did lose several of them today, but that is just the name of the game when you are fishing this size fish. It seems that some days we are fishing 15 to 20 pounders. And other days we are fishing 20 to 30 pounders. Today was definitely the nicer grade of fish. I'd say the future looks bright at Coronado Islands as long as the water doesn;t do something wierd and get cold and dirty. There seems to be plenty of Yellowtail around. Just about everywhere we see some sign of fish. Some days they bite, some days they do not. Man they are definitely in the area and I expect this spring is only going to get better for us.

Once again today we went out with 30 passengers and came back with 29 Yellowtail. Fly line sardines were the best bet today. Come down with some 25 or 30 lb. and some 2/0 hooks, bring a yoyo rod just in case and you will be good to go."

Today capt. Ray went out with 46 passengers and caught. 8 yellowtail 3 lingcod 2 sheephead and 118 rockfish. The yellowtail are still around but they only got active for about an hour today. Cold water yellowtail can be very moody. Timing is everything when it comes to catching these 59 degree water fish.

We got lucky today in some great weather today and landed 6 Beautiful Bluefin. As usual this year their was plenty of schools to look at that didn't want to bite. Thank you Joe and Mal.I always have a great time fishing with you and THE BOY'S. We are departing tomorrow on a 3 day trip and we have 2 openings. Tommy and Crew!

Fishing Update

Our Sat. Sept. 10th 2 Day is a go!!!!!  We are still looking for a few more anglers to join us, but we are going fishing!!!!
