Hey gang Ryan from the San diego checking in with the Coronado island report. Some very nice schools of yellowtail have moved into the islands. I can honestly say that every time we stopped the boat today we were stopping on a big school of yellows.
Hooking and landing these yellows was not easy to say the least. We hooked around 30 fish today and landed 16. This time of year a lot of our anglers are first timers so hooking and landing a 20-30 lb. yellowtail in 75 foot of water is a tall order. With that being said we did have several people catch their very first yellowtail ever today. Our hotshot angler for the day was Edgar Marty. Edgar was one of the few anglers who had his own tackle today and he hooked 5 yellows and landed 4. Edgar was flylining sardines on 25 lb. mono with a 5 ft. piece of fluorocarbon tied to the end. Conditions at the islands are about as nice as they could be.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in with an update from “The San Diego” out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. Today we fished offshore and saw very good sign of big Bluefin Tuna.
We caught 13 Bluefin for our 22 passengers. The fish are between 50 and 70 pounds. So the quality is very nice. They are not biting full speed yet but we did see some amazing schools today. There really isn't much to report today.. We didn't fish. We traveled all day. We chose to fish later last night in the windless lee of Cedros catching yellows, tuna, and seabass instead of going offshore in the wind/swell and most likely catching nothing or small tuna. I think we made the right choice. We had a bit of a bumpy ride last night, or so I'm told. As usual I slept through it. We were almost to the coast when I woke up for my watch, so things were a lot smoother. So today we slept in and had a late breakfast of biscuits and gravy. The crew got our scrub on while the customers read, hung out and played poker. After lunch, on cue, most of the boat took a nice nap. Now dinner is at it's end and my watch is almost over and I'm ready for bed.
We'll be arriving tomorrow at 6:00 in the morning. We should have a fairly quick turn around and we'll be back out again, this time for 4. I'll be taking her out and I'm not sure where we'll go yet. Fishing right now is at that stage where things need to and will change very soon. We just hope we're in the right place when they do.

Hello everyone,
The past couple days have been tough out here. We managed to land some nice school sized tuna yesterday but not nearly the numbers we were looking for.
Today we tagged some Grouper and a nice Dorado.
However the highlight was defiantly the groups of Striped Marlin we found in the afternoon. They were high and dry with Frigate birds putting on quite a show above them. Not our targeted species on these trips but defiantly a nice reason to stop the boat and fight a couple. The areal show is always quite impressive.
With the marlin in our wake we now have our sights set on trophy tuna tomorrow.

Hello everyone,
Today we are supremely sore from pulling on fish. The morning was spent catching a handful of Wahoo, some Grouper, and a bunch of Yellowfin Tuna.
When the afternoon rolled around we went looking for Dorado, and found them. It was a excellent grade, and everyone caught as much as they wanted. Very good fishing.
We will be targeting Wahoo and Grouper tomorrow.
