Shoalhaven River Fishing Report

18th May was a tough one, man. heavy rain and crazy winds! I went out hoping to find some shelter but the fishing was rough. didn’t catch anything decent, just kept getting snagged. went home empty handed but hey, at least I got some fresh air and a bit of a workout!

so on the 17th May there was light rain again, decided to hit the shoalhaven. only caught a few small ones but my friend got a nice 4 lb bream! we were using light tackle and it felt like a good fight. still trying to get that big one tho! need more patience, or maybe better luck!

12th May turned out to be a solid day, weather was drizzly but hey, who doesn't love fishing in the rain, right? managed to snag a beautiful 5lb estuary perch on a spinner. really happy with that catch, it was a nice challenge with all the rain making things tricky!

5th May was way better, partly cloudy and a nice temp! went with the fam and we just hung out by the river. caught a couple of small perch but nothing big. used my new baitcaster rig and loved it! the water was so calm, great day to relax even if the fish were shy.

30th Apr was wild! like, heavy rain was pounding down. didn’t expect much but thought I’d give it a go. landed a decent 3kgs cod on live bait. the wind picked up too, but I managed to stay in one spot. kinda felt like a true fisherman fighting those elements!
