Things definitely slowed down today! You can tell it's on the downswing. If a guy works at it though he could put together a day if you stay with it! Took off from the island heading to Ensenada early and our weather is definitely snotty to say the least! Should be in late tomorrow afternoon Friday, and on time into San Diego on Saturday morning. Looking forward to having Vernon and the boys out on their annual five day charter to Guadalupe Island! Don't have much more to say just hanging on trying to stay in my chair and not fly out of the wheelhouse.

Captain Ryan Bostian called in with an audio update from the San Diego out of Seaforth Sportfishing in Mission Bay. We have been fishing offshore for about a month now. Just recently we are seeing the fish starting to bite full speed. Today we have a rent rod charter with 100+ Yellowfin Tuna. Be sure to bring your 25 pound outfits and a 40 or 50 too. When the bite really good go heavier.

Fishing yesterday was absolutely fantastic. The grade of albacore that we were catching was beautiful with half being 30-40 lbs. and the other half averaging 22 lbs. Weather yesterday and today is excellent. This morning we are already into albacore, blue fin and yellow fin. Looks like a another great day on the water. Hi friends. Sorry about the lack of reports lately. We've been off the past couple of days as the weather put a delay in our final coat of gloss on the hull and with a break in the weather yesterday, the final coat was applied and it looks terrific. You can shave by looking at the boat and seeing yourself in the reflection. I'll send some photos when all the scaffolding is broken down and trucked away to show you some good shots at how good it looks. As for today, we proceeded back tour normal schedule of 0700 to 1600 hours and we're back to grinding and sanding. Our final major paint projects include the "bus stop", engine room hatch, bait tank and throwing new rock and painting the deck. With all hope, we should be back in the water sometime next week. Cross your fingers!

So that is all. Seeing that we've had the past couple of days off, we'll be working tomorrow to get everything set up to have the Strontium coat applied on monday to the bait tank, bus stop, and engine room access hatch. Hopefully, it won't be too long of day and we'll be able to arrive home in time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We'll chat with you sometime in the next couple of days and enjoy your weekend.

Hello and Happy New Year,

The Apollo has recently returned from Mag Bay. We spent the month of December down there doing 5.5 to 7.5 day fly down fly back trips. The cow fishing was tough however we managed some very solid trophies for our efforts. For the 3 trips we did, we caught 8 fish over 200# the smallest went 219# and the biggest went 268#. There was steady action on 20 to 50# tuna most of the time and very good wahoo and dorado fishing to be had.

We are now setting up our schedule for 2013 and have our calendar of available dates on line at apollocharters.com, go to the calendar page and click or scroll the month you want to see. We will be starting the season in Santa Barbara beginning in April and will stay in Santa Barbara thru most of June hoping for a spring sea bass and halibut run this year. There are many prime charter dates available right now so give me a call now if you are interested in setting up a fishing trip for this season.

Polaris Supreme Trip Report 07-19-2016 Okay we departed last night on Paul Hess's annual five day trip. We got another great group of folks and a nice load of bait to take down to the tuna and yellowtail grounds. The two pictures at the scale are of Jack and Kenny with their jackpot bluefin tuna one weighed about 124 and the other weighed about 120. We are looking offshore today and at this moment striking out. We have not put a fish on board. Have only found two scraggly kelp's and no schools of tuna. Weather is good and our expectations are high. Hopefully our evening report is a little bit more exciting than this one. The first picture that we put up today is a color water temperature chart of the area around Guadalupe Island. We would love to make a nice catch on the yellowtail in the next couple of days and be able to go scout out some new country for yellowfin tuna! It's a little hard to go out searching that far offshore though without something on board. Wish us luck! The Polaris supreme crew
